About Laparoscopic Procedures
Is Laparoscopic Surgery Right for You?
Technology has evolved immensely over the years, allowing for less invasive treatment. Laparoscopic surgery is performed using much smaller incisions than traditional surgery allows. Reasons for having laparoscopic surgery would include:
- Determining the cause of symptoms like chronic pelvic pain or infertility
- For those patients that have the signs of endometriosis and medications have not proved helpful
- To remove ovarian cysts that won’t go away on their own
- To remove an ectopic pregnancy
- Potentially to treat pelvic floor disorders, like urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse
More than Just Laparoscopy
We Offer the Most Options for You
Some of the doctors on our team have been specially trained in robotics surgery, which can be done for procedures such as hysterectomies. Robotics surgery utilizes even smaller incisions, leading to even faster and more tolerable recovery times.
Another procedure our doctors are trained to perform are colposcopies and LEEPs, or Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedures. These are sometimes performed when a Pap test show abnormalities in the cells. If it has been determined that performing the LEEP is the best treatment, it is done in our office and only takes a few minutes.
