I have always been passionate about people, culture, and women’s studies. I got my Bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University, majoring in Anthropology with a minor in Women’s Studies. After my undergrad, I moved to Florida and ended up in the banking industry. When the FDIC shut down my bank I began to rethink my career. I come from a strong family background of doctors, nurses, and PAs. My dad was the one who suggested I check out an ultrasound. Shortly thereafter, I moved back to Illinois and got my associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. I was able to do my clinical rotation at RUSH University Medical Center in downtown Chicago and I saw so much! My first job was at UW Madison Hospital and Clinics. I specialized in general ultrasound – abdominal, small parts, vascular, and OB/GYN. Although working at UW was my dream, my heart was set on OB from the get-go. I decided to pursue my OB passion and took a job at Rockford Memorial Hospital in their Maternal Fetal Medicine department. My career then took me to Bellevue, Washington, where I joined an amazing MFM team at Eastside Maternal Fetal Medicine. When I got pregnant, I decided to move back to the Midwest to be closer to family. I have been working at 1531 S. Madison St for a little over a year and a half and I love it here! The doctors are so kind and knowledgeable. This a wonderful place to work! I think of myself as a glorified photographer. I love women’s health and I love babies! The highlight of my day is taking images of adorable babies and seeing parents smile. I love that I’m not sitting at a desk all day. I get to interact with patients and a lot of the time their ultrasound is the highlight of their day. I love that I can be a small part of this special time in their journey. I have been doing ultrasound now for 10 years and I am so glad I chose this as my career.
